Rubber footwear is the cheapest, yet there are more expensive models that include waterproof features thanks to an incorporated layer of Gore-Tex. Yet, lots of people consider that gardening does not require anything too fanciful and they will just stick to their rubber gardening shoes.

Change them whenever there are serious signs of deterioration; they will seldom be worn for a whole year. Rubber does have a limited resistance.
